All wood species can be divided into deciduous and coniferous. Among deciduous trees, the most commonly used are: oak, birch, beech, ash, maple. Birch has medium strength and a uniform structure, due to which it is easy to process and paint. Also, its advantages include a low price. However, there are also disadvantages: it dries out a lot, cracks, often rots.
Oak is perfect for making a fence. Such wood is durable, resistant to decay, practically does not crack or warp. However, such a species is quite difficult to process, precisely because of its strength and it is expensive. Ash wood is similar in appearance to oak, as it is softer, easier to process, but less durable.
Among coniferous species, larch and pine are the most common. They are easy to process. Due to the high resin content, coniferous wood is less susceptible to rotting and fungal attack.
